Xiaomi today officially launched Xiaomi MIX 4, the latest generation of its boundary-defying MIX series, at Xiaomi’s Autumn 2021 New Product Launch. Xiaomi MIX 4 showcases the ultimate full-screen display with the latest CUP (Camera Under Panel) technology, complete with an all-new lightweight fine ceramic unibody. Xiaomi MIX 4 also features “Point to Connect” Ultra Wide Band – UWB technology, in addition to the Snapdragon™ 888+ 5G Mobile Platform, 120W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and more.
Xiaomi CUP Full Screen Technology: A possibly perfect display
It has been 5 years since Xiaomi launched its first MIX concept phone. Today, Xiaomi MIX 4 makes a triumphant return with brand new Camera Under Panel design, a technology iterated through three major generations, five years, sixty patents, USD 77 million investment, and hundreds of engineers.
CUP technology offers a 400 ppi seamless viewing in the camera zone, matching the pixel density, brightness, and color detail of the surrounding screen. While the camera is virtually invisible to the eye, Xiaomi MIX 4 combines its hardware and software capabilities to ensure the resulting photographs and videos captured using the front camera retain true colors and details. This is done through Xiaomi’s CUP technology, which minimizes light diffraction through a special circuit design, as well as a new transparent curved wiring Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) material coupled with imaging algorithms.
Boasting a stunning 6.67’’ AMOLED 3D curved display with 10-bit TrueColor, Xiaomi MIX 4 delivers an excellent visual experience with unparalleled color accuracy. Paired with 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate, Xiaomi MIX 4 immerses you in smooth scrolling and extreme responsiveness.
Lightweight Ceramic Unibody: Exquisite style and texture
Xiaomi MIX 4 inherits the series’ classic ceramic unibody design. Baked three times at a temperature of 1,400ºC, the ceramic body blends with the camera deco, symbolizing an aesthetic melange of art and technology. Even better, the new fine ceramic material weight is reduced by 30%, making it exquisite and light to hold, while keeping it strong and durable.
Xiaomi MIX 4, comes in three colors: Ceramic Black, Ceramic White, and the all-new Ceramic Gray – inspired by China’s Song Dynasty porcelain. The Ceramic Gray color variant is fabricated by using rare earth metals as colorants and a baking temperature control within ±5℃. This unique color adds a further air of sophistication with green and light blue color tones evoking true elegance.
120W Wired & 50W Wireless Fast Charging: Stay in power
Xiaomi has always been at the forefront of fast charging technology. With a massive 4,500mAh battery that ensures all-day power, Xiaomi MIX 4 delivers next-generation charging in the form of 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. To keep things up-to-speed, the Boost Mode allows the battery to charge up to 100% in under 15 minutes and 28 minutes with wired charging and wireless charging respectively*.
Xiaomi MIX 4 also comes with an intelligent fast charging modulation algorithm that helps regulate charging temperature and speed for different scenarios, as well as increasing battery charge cycles by up to 25%*.
The MTW technology used in the battery greatly increases the charging speed and reduces the charging temperature. Graphene anodes is a third-generation conductive agent, with a conductivity that is 1000 times that of traditional carbon black anodes. It can form a highly efficient conductive network and has a smaller internal resistance of the diaphragm, which greatly improves the fast charging performance of the battery.
Always-on UWB: “Point to Connect”
Xiaomi’s unique UWB technology is baked into Xiaomi MIX 4, compatible with select smart home products to enable “Point to connect” features. With this, simply point your smartphone towards any compatible Xiaomi AIoT device, and you can immediately connect it to your Xiaomi MIX 4.
For better cellular speeds and signal strength, Xiaomi MIX 4 boosts antenna performance by using a unique interior metal case as an antenna amplifier. It also supports adaptive controls to further optimize signal and speed up the connection when you need it most. Xiaomi MIX 4 also has 19 antennas built-in and supports 42 bands with signal quality optimizations for 8 scenarios, as well as automatically identifying environment, optimizing network configuration, and enabling manual location entry to further optimize signal quality in high traffic areas.

Xiaomi MIX 4 features a professional-grade 108MP main camera to ensure ultra-clear image quality with extreme clarity. Even if you zoom into photos, details, and textures still remain clear, allowing you to experiment with compositions as you like. Supported by 4-in-1 1.6μm Super Pixels, Xiaomi MIX 4 is capable of capturing impressive night scenes and low-light shots in difficult lighting without sacrificing the quality of the resulting footage.
The 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera is equipped with an optical free-form lens to significantly lower wide-angle distortion. Xiaomi MIX 4 is the first smartphone ever to feature the latest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 888+ mobile platform for ultimate performance. This features an increased CPU clock speed of 3GHz, compared with the 2.84GHz speeds of the Snapdragon™ 888. Along with increased AI capabilities of more than 20%, as well as LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, Xiaomi MIX 4 makes it a breeze to complete multiple intensive tasks on your phone. In addition to sporting the latest chipset, Xiaomi MIX 4 performance is optimized with a unique heat dissipation structure with a combined surface area of 11588mm² to minimize overheating. There are also several new energy consumption modes, allowing users to choose between peak performance, balance, or saving power.
AI Translation and Privacy solutions: For Your Peace of Mind
Xiaomi MIX 4 offers system-level AI Translation that can not only translate text or photos, but can also transcribe and translate audio. Xiaomi MIX 4 can automatically generate real-time on-device translations and subtitles that can be used for communicating between languages. Plus, in the event that you no longer have access to your Xiaomi MIX 4 as a result of it being lost or stolen, Xiaomi MIX 4 ensures the safety of your personal information. Its SIM lock feature, once triggered, requires you to re-enter your password to activate the new SIM. Adding to this, new shutdown prevention, disconnect prevention***, and data protection features will ensure security should your device be misplaced.
Availability
Xiaomi MIX 4 comes in four storage variants: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, and retails at RMB 4,999, RMB 5,299, RMB 5,799 and RMB 6,299 respectively.
Official sales will start at 10 am on August 16th in Mainland China via official Xiaomi channels.
In addition to smartphones, a number of accessories were released, including a new generation wireless charging stand, priced at RMB 599, and an eco-friendly leather case, priced at RMB 149.
